One of the weaker points in my doings with women is the phone follow-up. I tend to send text messages, and often don’t call the girls I meet at all until I’ve gotten to know them better. I think this isn’t really the way to go, I have this feeling that giving them a call would help me out considerably in sealing doubtful deals. Something inside me says: ‘Just give her a call’. I feel quite some resistance to calling girls up though, I suppose a form of approach anxiety, so I’d like to ask for your expert advice and thoughts on the matter. So in a nutshell: How do you follow up on collected numbers?

The last half year I haven’t done any “numcloses” anymore. I prefer seeing her in real life instead of talking on the phone, so I mainly use it for that. Girls usually initiate phone convo by themselve with me, or after a simple “how was your day?” But I can offer some alternatives that I like:
Try facebook instead of calling. It’s very light to add someone as friend. Then sometime I drop something on their wall or comment on their photo’s or even use the built-in chat.
Other options is shooting a short, playful sms that doesn’t require an answer. Examples:
“I lost my cell phone. Help me look for it.”
“No chocolates, no flowers, no flirty texts… are we breakin up?”
“You should be kissed, and often, and by someone who knows how.”
