Phone Game

March 9, 2009 · 1 Comment

Dear readers,

One of the weaker points in my doings with women is the phone follow-up. I tend to send text messages, and often don’t call the girls I meet at all until I’ve gotten to know them better. I think this isn’t really the way to go, I have this feeling that giving them a call would help me out considerably in sealing doubtful deals. Something inside me says: ‘Just give her a call’. I feel quite some resistance to calling girls up though, I suppose a form of approach anxiety, so I’d like to ask for your expert advice and thoughts on the matter. So in a nutshell: How do you follow up on collected numbers?

Zeitgeist: A Broader Framework

The game, the seduction community is founded in a re-evaluation of the values and social norms that drive us, and for some that are holding us back to become who we really are; we learn about glitches in the social matrix and how to get what we want out of a situation using that information, as well as counter-intuitive (as in, against your conditioning) ways of dealing with ourselves and with other people.

We live in a world embedded in instant gratification. Everything needs to happen NOW. Part of the seduction community also follows this: “use these tips&tricks now, and you will be fixed!” The magic pill. But that doesn’t exist, or at least there is no real fulfilment in manipulating yourself into other people’s minds and bodies. Another part of the community, however, is looking for ways to become more authentic, self-fulfilling, relaxed, happy and free. Inspired by authors such as Eckhart Tolle, they look at how you can be happy NOW without needing anything than what is, and how that can help you in your pursuit of love and sexual fulfilment.

In a broader framework, this movement looks at how the world works and where our society is moving towards in its current state. On a personal level, for most of us it could be said that we’re led into jobs we don’t fully like but that allow us to make the money to spend in our free time on enjoyment, gratification. So we end up spending our money on compensation for the fact that we don’t get the time to do what we really want to be busy with, or that we spend our time doing things that are boring. Like going out, or shopping, or drinking, or whatever. I’m not saying everything is compensation, but I for me can say that I realise most of the luxuries I afford myself are there because at some point, I’ve had to compromise on my time.

I believe many people in self-development and the spiritual, ‘natural’ tangent of the seduction community are into thinking about these things. And to test my theory, here’s a very interesting two-hour feature on Zeitgeist, the world we live in and what happens behind the curtains – and the last ten minutes of it describe, in short, a solution, the other way of being. But very briefly – luckily, many of the more elaborate thinking on this subject can be found in the seduction community and around it.

A tentative prediction: many of the seducers that turn the spiritual way, will end up not being money rich or powerful, but fulfilled and happy with ample but not excessive means, and more or less outside the classic social fibre. Others could be within it and playing the system, using techniques to advance their careers, but that’s more the opportunistic side. Nothing wrong with it, I guess what I’m saying is that it’s not my path. But a good thing to think about when pondering goals in life and the general direction you want to take things in the long term. Like what kind of house will you live in, and where? What kind of work would you like to be doing in ten years time? Where? With whom? And to what extent will you have the feeling that you’re contributing to something valuable and larger than yourself? Valuable stuff as this is the kind of thing you will share with your loved ones, and that will attract certain types of people and repel others.

I don’t know; maybe I’m wrong – I’m not saying that I believe anything it says, but it’s an interesting collection of thoughts nonetheless.

And now without further ado: Zeitgeist.
